Rental Car Insurance Lincoln
2011

Got a citation in the US while on road trip from Canada. Officer filled out form wrong. What can I do?
I’m Canadian and me and a couple of friends went up to the US for a road trip. Got this ticket from Lincoln County. The ticket was for “failing to drive in right-hand lane” even though there were no cars around except for me and the cop
Anyways, the cop didn’t fill in that the car we had was a rental, assumed I was the owner, and filled in the expiration date of the insurance incorrectly. I was told that if cops don’t fill in the citation correctly, it becomes void, however I don’t live in the US and since this ticket was from out of town… there doesn’t even seem to be a way I can dispute it?
Any and all help will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Yeah Goldfly, I didn’t know of that law, because I always figured it was a fast lane >.>
I just find the law kind of backwards because when people use the “passing” lane, they basically break the speed limit by ~10-20 miles to pass the cars. So it’s kinda weird to me that they enforce one law but not the other.
Anyways, thanks!
The officer can correct the errors on the ticket when you go to court.
